Summary:
The Large Order Sales Manager (LOSM) is responsible for sales, marketing, project management, and customer service on all matters relating to large and/or VIP orders at Blurb, which are generally for 400+ books from customers who are small businesses, agencies, not-for-profits and professional individuals The LOSM must be skilled and experienced in each of these disciplines, and comfortable operating the large order business with the mindset of an entrepreneur or small business owner. If you are a salesperson accustomed to making the sale, taking the order, and then passing to an elaborate sales support organization, this job is probably not for you.

The LOSM will be responsible for developing a compelling sales and marketing strategy, growing a pipeline of large and/or VIP orders, managing those orders through to successful completion, and providing post-order support toward the goal of a repeat order.

Responsibilities:
• Develop a successful sales strategy based on Blurb’s brand positioning, product/service offering, and the competitive landscape
• In conjunction with the marketing team, develop a compelling marketing plan and effective sales tools in order to grow the large order business and consistently achieve sales targets
• Develop deep understanding of Blurb’s evolving product offering and print/fulfillment capabilities in order to proactively and effectively counsel customers on projects – including advice on file creation, format selection, print specifications and fulfillment strategy
• Develop and manage a full-cycle workflow for the large order business – managing a sales pipeline, qualifying leads, delivering quotes, finalizing orders, project-managing orders to completion, and providing post-order support
• Drive pricing strategy and exercise business judgment on final quotes
• Develop strong relationships with Blurb’s Print Operations, Marketing, and Customer Support teams, as well as its print partners.
• Produce weekly/monthly tracking and analysis of sales pipeline, sales versus target, profitability, and notable qualitative trends

Qualifications:
• At least 5 years experience in outbound sales, with responsibility for achieving sales targets
• At least 3 years previous experience in a print procurement or print management environment; must have working understanding of litho (sheet/web) and digital print
• Technical skills – comfortable with web and client application technology and can effectively communicate with print partners and product management.
• Excellent project management skills with an ability to plan and drive deliverables and to meet deadlines, while managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
• Must be entrepreneurial – a self-starter who is strategic, proactive, resourceful
• Must be financially savvy – comfortable working in MS Excel to do detailed sales and margin analyses, run pricing scenarios, etc
• Must be service-minded, with excellent client facing and customer service skills
• Preferred: Comfort with managing and modifying basic legal contracts
