Sheetfed Uncoated EFI XF Proofing Question?

Hi Everyone,

I it possible to Proof Print Jobs that are going to be Printed on Offset paper using EFI Colorproof XF 4.5 connected to a EPSON Stylus Pro 9900??

Currently were only proofing Sheetfed Coated on Premium Semigloss roll paper.

My first guess is no.. Your using a waterbased ink.. The paper it goes on needs to be coated for this. But there is only one way to find out.. It run you LIN test on it.. My guess is your going to need to cutback the inks allot if its going to work.
 
Are you asking if you can simulate uncoated using your existing Premium Semigloss proofing substrate (sure, to some extent), or whether you can proof on an actual uncoated stock (no...unless its specifically treated/coated for inkjet)?

Thanks for the reply, well i didnt want to simulate on the gloss I want to proof on actual uncoated stock and the right stock for that purpose.

Last time I was at a training in Heidelberg Germany they showed me a new proofing paper for uncoated. That was November 2011. So I would suggest you check with Heidelberg on this new item.
