Short measure!

Although it's not always easy to check, until recently we have been happy that our paper merchants aren't giving short measure, and that if it says 500/200/100 sheets on the label that's what's inside. Over the last few months however we've found regular shortfalls, with reams being up to 16 to 20 sheets short. In addition standards of wrapping seem to have declined, with damaged sheets becoming more common, especially with NCR. As this is supplied in shrink-wrapped ream boxes (which show no signs of damage) it is clear that the problem lies with the mill.

Has anyone else noticed these problems recently?
