Signature Strips (Plastic Cards)

Hi Folks,
I'm just trying to knowledge up on plastic card production a bit.

Could anyone point me in the best direction for understanding how 'Signature Strips' are added to plastic cards?

1. Manual application (by hand)
2. Any Entry Level kit that can speed things up

Thanks in advance for any info, I'm UK based so if there are any suppliers or finishers specialising in this, I'm all ears.
