If you're located in the SE US, it also means it's time to start keeping an eye out on the National Hurricane Center website.

Even if it's just a nearby tropical storm, it wreaks havoc on your operation (shipping, receiving, etc.). Semi-trucks will not be on the road in any winds of 35 mph or higher.

Gotta make sure your Bourbon reserves are topped off and ready to go.

Where I worked, it was tornados we had to watch for. I worked in a large, metal building. Some people wanted to hide under the cutter. I claimed the Kluge letterpress. It was all cast iron.

I worked for a small newspaper that had been acquired by a conglomerate. When I started working there, the other employees told me that the previous owner had kept beer in the soft drink machine.

I also was told that the second door to his office opened onto a small alley. It was used to sneak out his girlfriends when his wife came in.

If you live down here, you gotta have your hurricane preparedness kit ready:
1) Water
2) Burbon
3) Flashlights
4) Tequilla
5) Batteries
6) Gin
7) Canned Foods
8) Whiskey
9) Toilette Paper
10) Wine
11) Paper Towels
12) Beer

I agree with your list except for gin. Can't stand the stuff. And beer? Why waste time, you've got the hard stuff.

You forgot pretzels.
