Wow - this brought back a self-study period I used to study Socrates and Plato in High School.
You thought your BLOG had a chance?

Almost 2,500 years ago Socrates believed that you could not truly convince someone to do something good unless they rationally understood why it was the right and just thing to do. This understanding had to be "born" from their own mind through careful, guided questioning.

Rational understanding? Look no further to begin to also understand what is termed 'cognitive dissonance'.
The ability to hold two or more contradictory beliefs, or when actions conflict with beliefs or values.

And we have been 'arguing' about 'reason' before then and ever since !!

LOL
