So.....let me get this straight: The P&L of the PSP was bad because they didn't market themselves. So, the CEO converted the PSP to an MSP instead of hiring an MSP to help them. I's ok, because yesterday, they were only a PSP. But, today, they are an MSP.

I can see why he's complaining of brain pain.
 
A print shop who used to reign as one of the largest in my area did this a few years back. Their printing sales had dropped from their heyday, so they wanted to rebrand as a 'marketing company'. They used to be called "_____ Printing" but they changed their name to "_____ Connect". If I had never known they were a printer, I would think this was now an IT company or ISP. I have no idea if the rebranding helped increase their sales or not.
