We tend to stick to one brand & range of coated paper for all of the obvious reasons. We were informed that our "usual" paper was no longer going to be FSC certified for some time (but remains PEFC). As this is an issue for us, we've been trialling other FSC coated papers and have been pretty horrified at how thin they are relative to their weight. For example, our "old" 300gsm was 290 microns and the one we are running at the moment (Creator from Torraspapel) is a measly 235 microns. "Old" 130gsm was 100 microns and the "new" 130gsm (again Creator) is 90 microns. We've trialled all the "standard" papers from PremierBeswick, Robert Horne and Paperco and they all now seem to be pretty thin.
Can anyone in the UK share experience with other (FSC) papers?
Is paper getting thinner?
