hello,

i have prinergy 2.1.5 with a trendsetter and a renderstation.

the job i was having trouble plating is a simple 4c job, nothing strange in the file, pretty simple job.

i was having trouble making a plate and began toggling the job process template.

i went into the render section and changed the output dpi from 2400 to 1200 and i could successfully image the plate.

i checked my plate and it appeared normal, doesn't look like i will have any dot loss in the low percentage areas for each color, i don't know why the rendering dpi would affect output though....

question is.... why would the dpi output in the render matter when imaging a plate???? the dpi is already built into the file.

Thank you.

If you have an older system you might have a memory issue, either not enough RAM or your disk space where it puts temp files is full. A restart may not flush this out.

Plate dpi and file dpi are completely different. You still need to rip your file to plate in order to apply your screen information which in not in your pages. This is a lot more intensive and you can tell much higher resolution.

You can try an rip each separation indvidually and see which one, if any, will fail, to help you narrow down the problem. You can also re-create the JTP for the 512 k in case it has become corrupt.

Good luck
