upgrade from OsX 10.9

Hi all,

I'm planning to upgrade my osX from 10.9.5 to the latest available: Sierra.
This is because more softwares every day can't run on osX 10.9: Illustrator, ArtPro+, other utilities, ...
Before doing so I'd like to ask if any of you has some hint about compatibility issues with other softwares of any kind, or other problems since upgrading osX from 10.9.

Our older Macs tend to run much slower on the new OS, quite the opposite of older PCs and Windows 10. We see significantly longer boot times and more network connection issues.
