UV ink misting

Looking for some incite on UV ink misting. Our yellow units mist pretty bad..it looks like the are smoking. None of the other colors are misting. We are running a 64 KBA 8 unit perfecting..so the speed is relatively slow(7,000-8,000 IMP). We are using Hostmann UV ink. Roller settings? Ink? any help would be appreciated.

I guess since its only the yellow unit that is misting it really narrows the root causes down to a few items.
Roller settings, roller condition and temperature- Double check all settings and check durometers. Make sure your wash up procedures are adequate to remove all glaze which can hinder ink transfer. Check that the rollers and ink temperatures are to manufacturers specs
Fountain solution/Emulsification- make sure this is in spec and check your not running with excessive water in the ink. This may cause Tinting as well as ink viscosity breakdown.
Ink- First thing is to make your ink supplier aware there is an issue and have a rep observe the problem. Attach white paper or cardboard opposite the outgoing nips of the print unit and run press at normal speeds and then observe the amount of misting on the paper after say 1hr and whether one location is worse than another. This should be done with the ink rep at the press.
Have another ink supplier provide a Process Yellow and do the same ink mist test I have just described.
Many UV printers install ink mist hoods to remove the mist from the air as you can imagine what it could be doing for your lungs.
Just some things to be looking at
Good luck

UV printing, Low VOC and claimed to be good for the environment, but don't mind the poor printers health while using the process.
Shouldn't it be Health first, Environment second..

Tell them you want the TF fountain solution. This will fix the misting. Start at 4 oz per gallon. You might have to adjust up an oz per gallon. It is that simple of a fix. I have seen it done many times.
