I've always found FusionPro to be slow no matter what I did. The problem with DesignMerge is that you're working with an InDesign file and not a native PDF. The majority of my work comes from customer created work and saved as a pdf.

I have the same issue as @TJPrinter. Although I would prefer to work in InDesign as you get much more control of over text appearance, many of my customers only send me a PDF.

@Meadows does your software have a solution for this? I know we could simply place a PDF into InDesign, but I could see that creating issues with color profiles, transparency, resolution, etc. What has been your workaround for this @kdw75 ? I suppose Fiery FreeForm Create could always be used too.

We have to fix most of our customers artwork anyway, so placing it into Indesign hasn't been a huge issue.

It is about 50/50 with us. We just drop the PDFs into InDesign now.

what is the cost comparison between DeisgnMerge and FusionPro?

Meadows is more expensive initially, but over time it is cheaper. When we purchased it there was a discount available for people switching from a competitor that made the deal a no-brainer even if it wasn't a better fit for us and so much faster.
