Versant 2100 Firmware...

We currently have the firmware ending in .81 on our 2100. Can anyone tell me if that is the latest? Our techs never seem to know when the updates come out unless we really pester them to check, at which time they will check, and get back to us in a few days. They also didn't know that the parts cabinet was for parts. We never have any parts on hand. The tech support people tell me we should have parts on hand, and some training, but the techs say they haven't heard of that.

AFAIK .81 is the latest firmware for the 2100.

For machines above the 80 which they consider production machines you should have extra parts on hand. My tech always makes sure there are extra parts here, so if I call in he can show up right away and replace what ever parts are needed. Also haven't you noticed when ordering toner and drums for the 2100 they never restrict you like they did with 80 or previous 700 series.

With the drums and toner yes, but we can't even get an extra fuser, without the tech saying he writes off our current one as bad. Very strange. I just wish they would let us have an extra 2nd BTR, and an extra developer housing or two.

I'm surprised they don't let you have that stuff on hand. With our 1000i we have just about everything on hand that would need to be replaced. Our cabinet is always full and they do inventory checks regularly to make sure we always have enough. I also have an extra fuser, a couple 2nd btr's, and an extra developer housing. Our drums have to be ordered by tech's but I think I have about 6 in the cabinet right now. They do a good job keeping us running. We just hit 1.8 million clicks and are starting do replace things that you don't usually encounter.

We have 1.9 million on both our 2100, and our C75. So far, neither has had anything major replaced. The longest we were down, was when a logic board on our C75's finisher had a component burn out. Took a while to figure that one out, as it was intermittent.

We have had to replace 2 developer housings, but other than that we haven't had to do anything major to it. It's just that now we're to the point of failure on items that haven't been replaced yet, so it seems like we are having to replace a lot of things.

I think version 100.31.83 is the latest.
