As I understand it, a "software update" by CrowdStrike knocked airports and businesses off line around the Globe.
1) I hope they have very good "Errors & Omissions" insurance - this is gonna cost millions.
2) Can you imagine how the employee feels who deployed the update? Right after he said "Ooops!" I saw him haulin' butt out of the office.........
3) Seriously though, I learned a long time ago, the hard way, to NEVER apply updates to the "production" environment. You apply them to the "test environment" first. Then, test, test, test, test, etc. until you are confident before rolling it out to the production environment.
