Xerox 700i vs. Canon C7000VP- which is better?

Trying to decide between the Xerox 700i and the Canon C7000VP. I work for a school district and we are in the process of bringing all of our printing needs in house. We will roughly print 15k to 20k items/month; post cards, business cards, brochures, fliers, etc. We had an extensive demo on the Xerox 700i and were impressed; we spoke with Canon and a few concerns came up about speed and over all production.

Any feedback would be appreciated...need to make final decision within the next few days.

Thanks!

20k a month seems like a light duty cycle for either machine, save the tax payers some money and look at a Xerox 550 and a KM equivalent.

The Xerox 770i we are looking at is their demo machine and they are willing to sell it to us at a substantial discount. We will also be using the machine for many other marketing strategies such as school calendars, bumper stickers, magnets etc.

If you are looking at the 7000VP then speed shouldn't be an issue as even on heavy/coated stocks the 2nd fuser keeps the machine running at rated speed. The 7010VP is a really robust engine with superb quality and runs all stock duplex with no loss of speed. Good Luck!
