Responding to a substantial surge in demand for eco-friendly food containers, Lollicup USA—a supplier to restaurants & several Fortune 500 restaurant franchises—has chosen to domestically manufacture products using a Koenig & Bauer-Flexotecnica EVO XG press, in support of this demand.
With 5 locations in the US, including headquarters in Chino, CA, the new Koenig & Bauer press will be working at Lollicup’s new 660,000 sq.’ manufacturing plant—currently under construction—outside of Dallas, in Rockwall, TX. The new plant is expected to provide employment for 200 new employees.
On Inc. Magazine’s list of 5000’s fastest growing companies for the past 5-years, Lollicup seeks out world-class equipment to serve their needs. After researching the market, management chose the Koenig & Bauer press. Their Flexotecnica is being equipped with automated features to improve efficiency, reduce makeready & reduce turnaround times for their paper cups.
According to Lollicup CFO Marvin Cheng, “Our market is requiring changes to our printing services, and we need equipment that provides high quality, efficiency, fast turnaround and is easy to maintain.”
Seeing a trend in eco-friendly straws, Lollicup has also developed 2 new lids that don’t require straws, allowing customers to comply with plastic straw bans with a more eco-friendly alternative.
