Pay Per Click vs Pay Per Visit

Let your perfect binder experience be a lesson learned. I would have it removed from the engine and get rid of it! You can by a good used one for pennies on the dollar that will be faster, cheaper and last 10 time longer than the printer. My little single clamp eva binder is 14 years old, I bought it used for $6000.00 12 years ago. I've seen PUR binders going for 1\3 the cost of new.

As far as the Riso goes. I have a GD7330 installed that is about a year old. A little over a million prints, but almost all envelopes. The output is no where near laser. It only prints on uncoated and the resolution is just 600dpi. Now it fits a nitch for us between monochrome and our 1000i. Would I try to have that as my only device.... hell no. OEM ink is $435.00 each, it is way cheaper to run a full color sheets on my 1000i that the Riso. For envelopes that's a different story. Average envelope is .0025 without a maintenance contract. So it fits a nitch for us, but by no means is it a Swiss army knife.

What about printing bw 6x9?

Yes I am ordering the perfect binder from amazon for $500. I do plan on using my minolta pb binder for 30 page books as labor costs for 10k mini books would be pretty expensive.

Regarding riso, would it be a good choice for 20lb bw 6x9 duplex for inside book pages? This may be better option for larger books than the Minolta? It would be nice not having to cut paper in house. $0.0025 is a nice cost per sheet. Are they maintenance proned?

It seems like they have small paper trays and output trays. It would have been nice if it could handle 5-10k sheets automatically.

It will disappoint and be little more than a toy for $500

As @AP90 has already indicated to you, they'll be cheaper all in, if you sub the job out to someone who will print them 4-up and use 75k clicks instead of the 300k clicks you'll use. How many sorts of 30-page books? How many of the 30 pages are colour? Should this be a litho job? Have you sourced quotes?

It has good reviews on amazon and an extended 4 month return policy. I was originally going to buy a used duplo.

I will bid it out but in past I have rarely seen books under $2. This has color cover and bw middle so running in house $0.50/ea no labor just file print (paper cost included). Outsourcing will require shipping which can add up.

If you are looking at this Amazon.com: VEVOR Wireless Glue Book Binding Machine Manual Hot Glue Book Binder with Milling Spine Rougher Binding Machine for Binding Books Albums Notebook (Book Binder): Arts, Crafts & Sewing
You will be greatly disappointed.

Please do yourself a favor and listen to the advise you are being given. Many of us have years of experience and print millions of sheets a year. You don't have to have the newest and greatest to do the job, but at the same time don't waste money and time and a potential reputation doing it with this toy. We have given you the best option to print these jobs multiple up on a sheet but you fail to understand the cost savings. Your focus is on not wanting to cut the sheets down. Not realizing you can cut multiple book blocks much faster than you can print them 1 up is keeping you from understanding the benefits.

Best of luck!

I fully plan on printing future large books/runs multiple pages up. Will buy a used duplo and do in house if I can't find someone local. I thought that item had good reviews but will pass on it.

So this thread came up in a search. Just curious if Shredder ever figured all this out and what you are currently doing today about your printing needs.
