Creating New Action List

Probably a simple question for all. I've been using PitStop Pro for many years now and using the existing Actions but when I try to create a new action, it doesn't seem to take. I think I'm following the directions but am I missing a step? I create a new action, name it, hit record, perform the action I want to do (just cropping), save and then stop recording. I go back to the original pdf, select my action, hit run and it does nothing. Doesn't have anything to do with not being PitStop Server does it? Thanks!

It shouldn’t as you would have to create a hot folder setup in Pitstop Server, define the Action List to be applied, and then drag the PDF onto the hot folder. Something to check is the page range that is set in the main Action List window itself. It could be that you are trying to apply the Action List to a page range that doesn’t exist in the PDF?

Can you post the Action List (or screen captures of the commands and their details) here?

Maybe a simple question to the simple question. Are you using the Acrobat Crop Tool or the PitStop Edit Page Box functionality? The recording feature within the Pitstop Actions panel is specifically designed to capture actions performed using Pitstop tools. Consequently, if you utilize the default Acrobat crop tool, it will not be recorded.
To effectively record a page crop, navigate to All Tools > Pitstop Page Box > Edit Page Boxes. From there, you can easily adjust the edges of your page box as desired and then stop the recording. Once the action is recorded, you’ll find an entry in the action list labeled "Resize ____ Box"—the specific name will vary depending on which boundary you adjusted. This allows you to fine-tune the recorded action directly within the list, ensuring precision and efficiency.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom! I was just logging in to post that was the reason why it wasn't working. It took me a few clicking on links in the instructions to find the page that had that information. Also, thanks for posting how to crop in Pitstop....that was my next question.
