Realy sounds like the dampner system needs to come out and rollers need adjusted and cleaned. Ink gets all over inside. 5/6 is alot of water and would expect it to sling water everywhere. 1 for metal plates 2-3 for poly.

Electronics are solid. Maintenance cost is no more than any other press. Parts are still available out of Japan. The only thing not available is the circuit boards.

How many impressions are on it. Make sure it will load and eject plates. Check cylinders and make sure the are not dinged up at all. It is a good Idea to have Heildelberg inspect it. There are alot of worn out machines at that age.

Back off on the 4mm to 3mm. Sounds like they are boucing in the gap on the plate cylinder.
