Is anyone using Heidelberg’s Prinect MIS? If so, any comments on implementation and usage?

Can someone explain why "Display All Blacks Accurately" and "Output All Blacks Accurately" aren't the DEFAULT "Appearance of Black" settings in both InDesign and Illustrator? They are essential preferences for correct output and printing.

Have you tried opening the Photoshop file with Acrobat? Once open, re-save the file.

Ditto what MacTwidget says. We have gotten excellent results by printing both process colors and spot inks over Opaque White. We print vinyl record jackets on different substrates, including metallic and holographic stocks, and the results have often been stunning.
