Starting a shop for political printing

Just a note....the Indigo is NOT toner. It's not an inkjet, but it's liquid ink. I won't get into the specific on how an Indigo works because that not what this thread is about, but i figured you should have the facts. Parts are NOT hard to come by. As a matter of fact HP recently started...

    4 roller crestline water unit

Honestly even if all of your adjustments seem to be ok, if the rollers are more than a couple of years old you should replace them. Crestlines are like that. No matter what you adjust you're going to have problems with older rollers.

    What's out there?

I don't have the figures, but since we print business cards our runs are very short so I would say we're around 100,000 - 150,000 per month I was hoping to stay away from toner, but I just looked at some videos and I'll put it on the list. Thanks

    What's out there?

Hi All, Sorry if this has been asked recently, but I've been off the forum for quite some time. I'm currently working for a business card printer and we're looking to replace our Indigo 3600. (Don't ask why) We need a 12 x 18 format and we'd really like an inkjet. We've looked at the IGEN 5 and...

    Are toners lightfast?

I'm not sure if it will make a difference, but these are window labels. The print will be on the inside of the glass and on the backside of the label. (we're printing in reverse) That may buy me some time.

    Are toners lightfast?

We don't know what color they're going to be yet. I might have to do the color offset and the numbering digital. :-(

    Are toners lightfast?

I did find on this page that their toner is (at least they claim), but I don't know if all toners are.

    Are toners lightfast?

We're printing some window decals for parking permits. Can anyone tell me if they will hold there color for one year? We're printing them on a Cannon 7010. Thanks, Dave

What is the best way to perfect bind glossy paper?

This is what we have. Never a problem with any stocks.

What is the best way to perfect bind glossy paper?

Change glue. Sorry I can't be more specific, but this shouldn't be a problem. What type of perfectbinder do you have?

    Online Printing Prices...

I was going to mention this. I worked for a small commercial printer in the 80's that would run a 19x25 sheet full of B&W business cards every friday. (we use to call it the "gang bang") Big money maker. Today we couldn't find 2 companies locally that will both use even the same STOCK never mind...

    6x9 env

Wow. You might want to tell your customer that they're printing that on the wrong side of the envelope. :-) With a run that size you're best option is to do as Erik suggested and run them landscape. If you're not able to for some reason.....then open the darn things and get it over with. It...

    6x9 env

There's always more than one way to do things. We open them to be able to run both sides at once since most of our 6x9 runs are short. It also makes running them a no-brainer for someone that sounds like a beginner which is why I suggested it to the OP.

Open the flap. Flip the envelope over and print on the front of the envelope and on the flap at the same time. Then fold the flaps back over. It goes a lot quicker than it sounds if you do it right.

Open the flaps and grip from the other end.
