    Opening InDesign options

Yes. That is how we are setup and all computers are synchronized. We're guessing a corrupted InDesign preference and plan on deleting and rebuilding. Operator just has several jobs to finish first.

    Opening InDesign options

Out of several computers one does not asked about Profile Policy when opening an InDesign file. I've looked and not found any setting that would turn the Profile Policy options ON/OFF. Under Edit / Color Settings all settings are the same on all computers. Any help would be appreciated! Linda

    Created Spot conversion to Process

I believe you are correct. I created a PDF with the area duped. One Spot. One Process. Then used PitStop to convert to All Spots to Process. They look the same. Moving on . . .

    Created Spot conversion to Process

I had time to try this again today. Everything looks ok until I turn on Separations Preview. The colors do not match. Tried setting up another Spot color named differently (just to make sure the color had not been previously defined in the library). Visually the colors from Spot to Process still...

    Created Spot conversion to Process

Went to a different computer, spot converted fine. Went back to my computer, weirdly conversion now works fine. We had to turn just this one area to process. The "Special Orange" was printing as a spot elsewhere. I'll post if I can figure out why one time is doesn't work, and one time it does.

    Created Spot conversion to Process

We have a customer supplied file that has a Spot Color named "Special Orange" that was created with a 4-color process mix of cyan-0 / magenta-85 / yellow-100 / black-0. We needed to convert the Spot to Process to multiply into a grayscale photo under it, maintaining the exact color. When we...

    Stand Alone Trapping Software

Don't want Illustrator trapping. Either InDesign or a PDF trapper.

    Stand Alone Trapping Software

This says it is a Raster Trap, but what we need is a Vector Trap. Is that true?

    Stand Alone Trapping Software

I found what I was looking for in InDesign - I think.

    Stand Alone Trapping Software

Any recommendations for Stand Alone Trapping Software. We need trapped vector PDFs to send to a customer but our XMF workflow only outputs raster PDFs with trap. The software I'm finding for trapping needs to use a RIP. I'm sure there's something out there than can trap PDFs on its own? And...

RGB converts differently in InDesign and PitStop

Not sure why I'm having so much trouble with color conversions. Think I have it - and "poof" all understanding disappears! We are having a difference if RGB to CMYK if converted in InDesign or converted in Acrobat PitStop. Adobe color settings - used in InDesign and Acrobat - (Photo 1) RGB...

Illustrator white line over black background is 5% black instead of white

We finally figured this out. The original art has the strokes Black with Opacity at 90%. When changed strokes to White 100%. But even though everything said 100% Opacity, it was holding on to the 90% Opacity. When we change the original stroke to Black 100%, THEN changed to White, it worked!

Illustrator white line over black background is 5% black instead of white

I have a white line on top of a black background that is showing 5% Black. The white line has no Transparency, no Opacity. I even put in on a new layer. Even though it reads 100% white, it is coming out about 5% black. If I copy and paste it in place about 3 or 4 times, it will then appear...
