    Acrobat 9.4 + Potstop + Vista = SLOOOOOW

If we switc h up to Windoze 7, is that an upgrade or do I need to do a nuke and pave? I'm only a slight bit fearful of nuke and pave with Windoze machines.

Upgrading from Vista in a small shop

As I am finding out, Vista is one slow dog. I started this job a month ago with 25 years in prepress. We are a busy packaging and carton shop. The PC I inherited is a Vista running HP Pavillion 64 bit, 4 gb ram Home edition. I am running Adobe CS4 and in line to purchase Pitstop. I am so used to...

    Acrobat 9.4 + Potstop + Vista = SLOOOOOW

That was my thought also. Vista seems like a real dog, without insult to all dogs and their owners! I suppose this is why our HP Z3100 takes forever to start printing files. I guess I'm checking into Windoze 7. Thanks, ultimate

    Acrobat 9.4 + Potstop + Vista = SLOOOOOW

What part of the picture am I missing. I am used to a Mac and things happening NOW. I am now on a Vista machine with Acrobat 9.4 (came with CS4), trial version of PitStop and 4GB RAM. But Vista is locking up 90% of the time. IS there anything I can do to speed Vista up? Do I need a newer version...

Moving layers up and down in Pitstop Pro 10

Correct. Once you start building layers you don't have any control if the last one you create you want to put up two layers. I suppose I can duplicate the layers in a pattern reminiscent of the puzzles with the little sliding tiles, but hoed for something more direct.

Moving layers up and down in Pitstop Pro 10

That only moves objects. I was hoping to change the order of layers.

Moving layers up and down in Pitstop Pro 10

We used to be able to move layers up and down in Pitstop but I am not finding that option in the new Pitstop Pro v10. Am I missing something? Thanks, Rick

Decision: Creo Trendsetter 800 or Agfa Azura

Thank you, that is good information. I fear the high cost of repairs down the road.

Decision: Creo Trendsetter 800 or Agfa Azura

You are correct, it is the Accento CTP I was speaking of. I will find some comparisons.

Decision: Creo Trendsetter 800 or Agfa Azura

Thanks for the reply. I did not get my info correct. Azura is the plate, not the system.

Decision: Creo Trendsetter 800 or Agfa Azura

After 11 months out of work, I have finally returned to the prepress workforce! After 25 years, I must be crazy! I do have a dilema: Anyone have any advice on either of these two? Our company is moving, finally , to CTP and looking at the Creo Trendsetter 800 Quantum. A reliable source is saying...

Paste Bind ?'s for Bindery folk

I should've known this was going to be an error when the job was written up. Ya can't paste bind a 20pg book...12 maybe, 8 maybe. 20 - not!
