    Creo ICS Files?

Does anyone happen to have the original Creo Image Control Strip EPS files that they could send me? I'm specifically looking for the conventionally-screened horizontal version - ICS2.0AConH.eps. Thanks! joe

    OPS online print solutions

To expand on my earlier post, our experience with OPS [nearly a year] has been nothing short of horrible. The software is garbage, and the support is even worse. We've had several dozen serious failures of the core systems, and twice that many lesser concerns. We have support requests for...

    ID-designated PDF artbox?

You're right - I think it would have to be ArtBox, which seems to be available for just this sort of application. But how to set it in InDesign, rather than in Acrobat?

    ID-designated PDF artbox?

Hey gang, Does anyone have information regarding setting the "other" PDF boxes [CropBox, ArtBox] in InDesign? What we're trying to do is export a single PDF with dual page sizes: one defined by Document Setup in ID as usual [TrimBox] for normal workflow, and a second, smaller, user-defined...

    CS5 Cool New Features

Content Aware Content Aware I was very happy the other day to be able to use Content Aware fill to bleed out an image that was clipped at the trim. It worked brilliantly. joe

InDesign - creating 500 pages with linked text boxes

Isn't there a way for ID to automatically generate new pages/text boxes as needed, or am I thinking of Quark?

    Illustrator CS5 Ruler Orgin Finally!!

I can certainly see both points of view: Al's right, from a geometric standpoint, it doesn't make any sense to have the Y value increase as the element moves down the page. But from a utility standpoint, I'm much more interested in the element's dimensional relationship to the top of the page...

    Inline press diagrams for prepress

We're on the verge of drawing up diagrams of different types of inline press configurations for use by prepress, so they [we] can follow the web through turnbars, inline imaging, inline finishing, etc, and by so doing determine during the layout phase which side should be top/bottom, whether...

Unacurate vector image sizes in Illustrator

Can you be more specific on what you're trying to do? Just drawing a box, or tracing an existing element? Are your Illustrator [preferences] and document [document setup] Units both set to the same thing - inches, millimeters, etc?

    Metrix, Preps and Workflows

The marks have got to be PDF for Metrix, with attending PNGs for preview. I wasn't real excited about migrating the entire library either, but in the end it turned out to be a good opportunity for some housecleaning. You need to tell Metrix the exact dimension of each mark, so wherever...

    Metrix, Preps and Workflows

I don't know that it's possible to use old Preps layouts in Metrix. I know that marks won't translate, as the systems and file formats are different. It may be possible to export from Preps to something that Metrix can import, but what we found when we moved from Preps [Upfront] to Metrix was...

Heidelberg XL105 - Slow Down Wheels

Perspective from the prepress side: We run an XL105 and Speedmasters. I assume you are talking only about perfecting jobs? We have a layout rule in place which dictates that every perfecting job for either of these presses must have at least three 0.25 clear zones for slowdown wheels, two of...
