I can certainly see both points of view: Al's right, from a geometric standpoint, it doesn't make any sense to have the Y value increase as the element moves down the page. But from a utility standpoint, I'm much more interested in the element's dimensional relationship to the top of the page...

Can you be more specific on what you're trying to do? Just drawing a box, or tracing an existing element? Are your Illustrator [preferences] and document [document setup] Units both set to the same thing - inches, millimeters, etc?

The marks have got to be PDF for Metrix, with attending PNGs for preview. I wasn't real excited about migrating the entire library either, but in the end it turned out to be a good opportunity for some housecleaning. You need to tell Metrix the exact dimension of each mark, so wherever...
