Does anyone know of software that can do this?...

Does it have to be a PDF? I'm not aware of any programming interface for PDF documents that will do as you suggest. Excel (or Numbers on the Mac) would make this very easy. If that's a route you decide to take, I can help.

    Voice of the Employee

Eliminate your ego as a manager and this problem goes away. You always have to consider that there is someone in your team who could do your job better than you do.

    PearlDry questions

Greetings! We're currently using PearlDry plate material on our UV waterless presses. The imaging engine is of a thermal variety by Luscher. I was wondering: 1) What chemical are you using to clean the plates? (To clear the ablated material after processing) We're currently using Varn's...

    Best Quotes from clients!

One of my floor supervisors to me in a production meeting: Supervisor: "We couldn't find the proof, but we got the job out on time" Me: "Uh, what did you match the output to?" Supervisor: "Those commercials are on TV all the time, I remembered what the color looked like from the picture on my...

Need opinions on workflow & Rip

Our prepress department uses Nexus. They bought the whole shebang, which is pricey, but they are in love with that software! The best part is the support; phone support is free and they person on the other end actually knows what they're talking about! -Brian

    Test your Color IQ

I got a 10 on my Sony laptop, a 3 on my Powerbook and a 0 on our soft-proofing station. I would say monitor condition is paramount in this particular test! We administer this test (in actual sample form, not on the computer) to our employees yearly. I take it every year and I've averaged a...

    Tool for viewing/measuring TIF separations

Good morning. I'm looking for a tool, similar to the PearlView software, that will allow the same functionality for TIFF files. Does anyone know of a simple, functional contemporary to the PearlView software offered by Presstek, but intended for TIFF files? We often use the PearlView software...

    Server recommendations?

I think this depends on how comfortable you are with servicing your own equipment. If you can tear down and re-build a server, the software, configure RAID arrays and such, you can probably get away with purchacing your own box/software. The following is MY OPINION. I have 10+ years of server...

    Where to start with lean?

My biggest hurdle implementing SPC... It absolutely can NOT come from the top down. If you were hired to be a stooge for the manager who wants XYZ done, because he says so and he thinks SPC is the way to go about it, quit. Upper management buy-in is important, but unless your process champion...

    Extended Gamut proofing

Re: Extended Gamut proofing "...the gamut HAS TO BE dependent on the number of colours in your inkset at some level... this is the whole reason these devices have more than 4 colours. I realize the RIP software is key (and this is why I'm looking for RIPs that think beyond CMYK and CMYK...

    Overall red heavy on press

Re: Overall red heavy on press Good morning, 2shoff \\\\Much good advice to this point, but let's start at the press (where color correction should start) \\Measure a gray patch printed on press with your densitometer. Is it gray? (all 3 color components +/- 0.03 of eachother?) My guess is no...
