Good morning.
I'm looking for a tool, similar to the PearlView software, that will allow the same functionality for TIFF files. Does anyone know of a simple, functional contemporary to the PearlView software offered by Presstek, but intended for TIFF files?
We often use the PearlView software to view jobs on our workstation. This software gives us the ability to preview in composite and retrieve halftone dot percentages for each separation in a masked area. This is a valuable quality control tool, as our process does not allow for control strips. (Color bars)
Part of our process has moved from PearlFile plate output to TIFF plate output. For the time being, I have added a step to our workflow to generate both the high-res TIFF plate output and also a lower resolution PearlFile "preview" so we can continue to use this tool.
As you can imagine, this is somewhat difficult to manage; each change in our workflow requires consideration for this preview file to be properly corrected as the output file is.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
