Do we need RO water for plant humidifcation system?

We have been using the Amco misters for a year now without RO. We have not had any problems with the nozzles clogging but we do get a white build up on anything around the unit. It can be cleaned with vinegar and water. I think ideally we would use purified water of some kind.

Thanks everyone. The numbers you guys are throwing out there are confirming what I was thinking. Now to get everyone here on board with change.

    Pricing digital?

So are most shops doing a click charge plus plus an hourly press rate for digital printing. We are doing a click charge only that is adjusted according to the quantity. I was thinking click charge for copies, and click plus hourly for print would be the way to go. We are using Printsmith which...

    Digital Capacity

Thanks for the replies. We are not necessarily looking at upgrading. I am trying to figure out our pricing structure. Too many times our CSRs will estimate a job going digital as well as offset. They are coming up with it being cheaper to go offset on some really short runs. 125-250. I would...

    Digital Capacity

I am trying to figure out what constitutes a good workload for our J75. Xerox's recommended average monthly page count is 20,000-75,000. The middle of this rang is 47,500. Divide that by 35 clicks per minuet=1357 minuets per month, or 22 hours per month. At 20 work days a month= 1.1 hours of...

2006 SM74 damaging the corners of 19x25 press sheets

We have a 2006 PM74 and had the same problem. We were able to track it down to the front lays (head stops). They hit right on the corner of that size sheet. We were able to remove the two outside stops. One 10 mm bolt coming up through the bottom of the shaft they are on. Problem solved. We run...

    Which Round corner machine

We tried a small tabletop model that was motor driven. I could only do 200 cards at a time and even then, not reliably. We returned it and got a Kustom Corners. It is quality built, easy to use and there is really nothing to break down. It does a better job on more cards quicker.

    Scratch-off printing.

We are going to get some of the tabs from the same supplier we get our normal mail tabs from. They will hopefully run on our tabber. Our letterpress doesn't have foil capabilities. Not sure what would be required. Might look into it if this becomes a more normal request.

    Scratch-off printing.

I just realized you can do scratch-off tabs. I think it might be a good solution for this project. thank you.

    Scratch-off printing.

We are looking for a way to do scratch off printing. Somewhat like a Lotto ticket. We only have normal sheet fed presses. No coaters. Is there a way to do this? From what I have seen, it looks like a screen printing process. Is there someone in the Denver or Albuquerque area that can do this...

    Humidity and fit problems

It's still raining and I have run several stocks I would normally have trouble with, and all is well. This morning I am running some paper that was forgotten about 18 months ago (grain short). It did not fit the first time I ran it... but it fits today. I am convinced the RH is helping. Thanks...

    Humidity and fit problems

We use a packing gauge to ensure we are packed to a .004 squeeze to the plate (manufacturer recommendations). I may over pack by .0015 but no more. And we are printing just above our breakaway point. I dont think shocking the paper is the issue. The black prints the widest and the other colors...

    Humidity and fit problems

I agree 100%. Unfortunately some jobs require we cut a 28*40 sheet to 20*28. We try to avoid this but it is not always possible. We have moved a swamp cooler into the press room to test out this theory. I don't know if it will be enough to bring the humidity up to a good level. I will report...

    Humidity and fit problems

I have been having problems fitting color to color. My black print too wide compared to the CMY. Only on light weight papers and stock running grain short. I have replaced packing and blankets to try to keep this to a minimum. Press is a Heidelberg PM74 Ink sequence KCMY We are in the...

    Shop Lighting

Hello We are looking into LED lighting to replace the old florescent tubes on our production floor. We would like to get as close to 5000 K as we can for a reasonable price. We have a booth with standardized lighting at press. We just thought it would be nice to have the surrounding light as...
