    Konica vs Xerox?

That's good to know about having a fair bit of years left on the C3070. In an ideal world, I'd either keep both or get rid of the Xerox and get an offline booklet maker instead but I just don't have the space for even a small booklet maker at this point.

    Konica vs Xerox?

Kind of. What we do though is we keep a tally of the toners that we buy, so for example if we buy a magenta toner today, then get 3 magenta toners from KM next week, we will hold one back as our toner so when the contract ends we won't give that one back to KM.

    Konica vs Xerox?

Yeh, we bought our Konica brand new 5 years ago. We’ve only done <300k clicks on it as most of what we print is short run, high margin rather than high volume so it’s still a baby really. KM have said they’ll continue to service it but we are kind of at their mercy as to when they decide they no...

    Konica vs Xerox?

No we couldn’t justify the cost of the IQ when we bought our C3070. We paid £22k for the C3070 with three air assisted trays and a standard finisher and the IQ would have been an extra £16k. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the space to keep both machines otherwise I would definitely...

    Konica vs Xerox?

Just relooking at this, as once again our Versant 80 has required a service call...apparently because we are not using it enough. I really need to make a decision as to whether to sell our Konica C3070 and run the Versant 80 til we buy another machine or sell the Versant 80 and keep the Konica...

    Konica vs Xerox?

Interesting. I’ve not done any critical double sided stuff on our Versant 80 but when I’ve done the SIQA adjustments it’s been bang on when it’s finished. In comparison, our KM3070 is a lot more manual in doing the front to back registration. The main issue I have with the Xerox is prints on...

    Konica vs Xerox?

Just for curiosity more than anything… Out of these two manufacturers, which do you prefer? Thinking of the Konica C4080/Versant 280 kind of product range rather than the higher end models.

Toners for Konica C3070 - Confused

Interesting. The models for our toner are A3VX155/255/355/455 so different model numbers to what you’ve stated. Thankfully I did manage to find a yellow toner in the end, for £90. Will probably buy a few up for future needs and just keep them separate to Konica provided toner.

Toners for Konica C3070 - Confused

Thanks for that. Frustrating! The toners for the C3070L are much cheaper (presumably not as popular a model) whereas the only C3070 toners I can find are in a set of all 4, and only need the Yellow...maybe I should buy the set of 4, and sell the other 3 lol.

Toners for Konica C3070 - Confused

To date we've always had our konica on a service contract but we need a yellow toner quicker than Konica can get one to us. The 'proper' part for the Konica C3070 is TN619Y (A3VX255). Had a look on ebay and there are a lot of TN619Y toners but with different codes such as A3VX256 (which says...

Do you use a print shop management software?

Out of interest, what sort of cost is that? Hate it when companies don’t put prices on their websites haha.

Do you use a print shop management software?

I've posted about this in the past in the MIS sub forum, but I am guessing a lot of people don't tend to go in there. I am curious whether you guys use a shop management software and if so, which one? I'm really looking for something that can: - Quote Jobs based on paper costs / print costs -...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

Apologies, think it’s the 707 (non m version) as 400gsm wasn’t an option when I bought my 3070.

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

We've had the opposite experience to a degree (also in UK). We bought our Konica C3070 direct from Konica and while I did feel their sales technique was somewhat aggressive, they had much more ability to give us a good deal and I pushed them hard. We got the C3070 with the PF-706, the PK-522...

    Duplo DC646 Any Good?

Thanks, it’s from a company that buys machines from print shops and refurbs them so should all be in good condition but will get them to run a few tests for me, and will check it comes with the dongle. I’ve been offered it for about half what they’re selling on eBay for as a pre-sale price with...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

Office copier dealers tend to charge a double click on larger sheets so unless you can negotiate a lower rate, I can see why you say they’re expensive. However, if you go down the route or buying an office copier and service it yourself, you can get the toners off eBay quite cheaply (check toner...

Can Xerox c70 add metallic/white/clear toners.

It’s called adaptive colour/ink. When I looked into it, for the c60 you do need a kit and you need to have a fiery controller. From what I can remember, the kit consists of the toners, a second set of drums and then a unit to store the other set of drums so they don’t get damaged. I believe...

    Duplo DC646 Any Good?

I've got the opportunity to buy a Duplo DC646 for what seems like a really good price. I'm just wondering if they're any good. I'm thinking it'll be useful for short run business cards, postcards and greeting cards but at the same time, I already have a full size guillotine so not sure whether...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

Thanks for that. Doesn't sound too dissimilar to our C3070. We definitely get colour inconsistency across an SRA3 sheet, but not super noticeable for most of the stuff we print. I'm sure there's a calibration of some discription that can sort it but haven't played with it enough to find it as...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

I've tried 250gsm coated stock on our KM C458 but its quite thin, I did try 350gsm coated and the machine just laughed at me haha. Out of interest, what's the C4080 like? I think that's what I'll be getting as an upgrade to our C3070 at some point.
