Not ANY previous version - just the one single version that we currently make available as the "archival copy".

Great question. I don't know for certain, so PLEASE don't quote me on this. But I believe the answer is one year. You would need to purchase a year in advance or be a member for one year (on the monthly plan).

No. Instead, we will ensure that the current CC versions always have the ability for users to "Save to archival version" (it won't be called that, of course, but you understand what I mean).

I think this is the crux of the matter that folks need to understand. Adobe DOES have a HUGE user base with its Creative Suite products. A VERY diverse user base. From professional printers, to hobbyist photographers, to web designers to videographers to students and LOTS of stuff in...

Sort of. During your subscription, you will have access to the current product (of course) and an "archival copy". To start, that's the CC version and the CS6 version. At some point, we will replace CS6 with some other "stable release" that you will be able to keep around and use should you...

    Creative Cloud thoughts

This is a very common misunderstanding about the Creative Cloud and is simply NOT TRUE. All subscription members will be able to access previous versions (I forget if it's one or two versions back) for archival & compatibility purposes. So, if you do choose to stop your subscription, you will...

    Creative Cloud thoughts

My colleague, Dov, pointed out that we won't be making the ENTIRE library available at this time. However, we most certainly are going to be working towards that as our goal over time. So just as you will obtain new feature of our apps during your subscription, you will also be able to access...

In what way? How are you doing the math on this? That may well be, but consider some of the things that you DO get with CC that you don't currently have - FREE ACCESS to the ENTIRE Adobe Font Library! No more "Where is that font"? - 20G of free cloud storage! No more managing your own FTP...

    Acrobat layers - production

I don't know what GMC Inspire is - but if it's a PDF processing tool that can't handle subset fonts, I would RUN FAR FAR AWAY....or at least contact their tech support.

    Acrobat layers - production

It's not the bullet speicifially, but any character outside normal ASCII range. This is done in order to keep file size down and optimize accordingly. It is embedded - just embedded subset. No, I can't. Why do you care that it's subset? Certainly embedded vs. non-embedded...but subsetting...

    Acrobat layers - production

Excellent - this is a MUCH better and more modern solution! Adobe Acrobat and Callas PDFToolbox have the ability to automatically split this into the 300 separate PDFs, if your RIP is older and does not support PDF layer control natively.

    pdf compliance standard

Are you sending the PDF natively to the device? If so, what format(s) does it support? If it has a RIP, what are the details of the RIP and it's support?

    PDF/X-3:2003 Specifications

An OutputIntent is a PDF-centric data structure that described the intended output device of the document. It is entirely embedded in the PDF. However, one part of the OutputIntent structure contains EITHER a reference to a known printing condition (ala TR001) OR an embedded ICC profile...

    Viewing Opaque inks in Acrobat

It may be DESIGNED that way, but that information is NOT present in the PDF. As such, Acrobat (nor any other standard PDF viewer) can render it in a special way. Because the ESKO viewer is using "out of band" information concerning that ink. This is one issue that is being addressed in the...

    PDF/X-3:2003 Specifications

No, no one can do that. The document is copyright the ISO and you would need to purchase your own personal copy of it from them. An OutputIntent - YES! An embedded ICC profile - No.

    Adobe Muse

Muse is the PERFECT solution to that. It is designed for someone who knows InDesign but not HTML and wants to put together a page or site using their design knowledge w/o worrying about the HTML heavy lifting underneath. It fully supports letting you create a Desktop vs. a Mobile version of...

    View Separations without Adobe Professional

You have to have color management to do all the other stuff. In fact, even Adobe Reader has been color managed for over a decade! We could put lots of things into Reader, but then why buy Acrobat???

    View Separations without Adobe Professional

And that's why we made some significant improvements to it with Acrobat XI. I hope that some/many/all of you have had a chance to check them out - we hope you'll agree that they will make it even more valuable! Which is, of course, as designed as goes fully with the name of the window -...

    View Separations without Adobe Professional

Stephen - because it's been there forever (well since Acrobat 5)...No, we don't (usually) remove features from our products. And in this case, in fact, we actually ADDED some new capabilities to the Separations viewers in Acrobat such as the ability to capture/save the values into an...
