Viewing Opaque inks in Acrobat

I have a solid solid Pantone 873 metallic ink overprinting a solid black.
The 873 ink is designated as an opaque ink.
When viewing the ink in Acrobat the 873 is viewing as transparent letting the black background show through.
When viewing the PDF in ESKO viewer the ink views correctly. The 873 is viewing as opaque not letting the black background show through.
Does Acrobat have the ability to view opaque inks correctly?
The file is PDF 1.6.

It may be DESIGNED that way, but that information is NOT present in the PDF. As such, Acrobat (nor any other standard PDF viewer) can render it in a special way.

When viewing the PDF in ESKO viewer the ink views correctly. The 873 is viewing as opaque not letting the black background show through.

Because the ESKO viewer is using "out of band" information concerning that ink.

This is one issue that is being addressed in the upcoming PDF 2.0 (ISO 32000-2). Of course, when that will appear in a PDF/X near you is another story...
