Tips for cleaning sheets from rollers??

Thanks guys, have heard of using varnish to remove paper from rollers but not tried it, will give it a shot if it happens again!! We currently have a tech "apparently" coming in to sort out a pre-set problem on the console, having to manually resize and change lays atm which is a bit of a pain...

    odd line appearing on sheet

Checked all your rollers settings? might be a water mark that can disappear as the press warms up and expansion combined with ink temperature climbing could (possibly) nullify the effect, hence the improvement over 4000 runs or so... is it more prevelant in screens or solids? if changing water...

    SM 52 Back Cylinder Cleaning

We were always workin our butts off to keep the old Rekord's back cyl's clean, when one of the offsiders bought some in to try out...worked great and saved a heap of effort!!! Beer was on me that friday !!! The normal press operator probably has a system worked out that just makes it easy, just...

Tips for cleaning sheets from rollers??

Had a few sheets up the rollers today, not a common thing but a fair pain in the ass when it does!! One unit was a fairly easy clean up, it was around the water forme so easily lifted out and cleaned, but the other was deep inside on the second ink forme so not so easy to remove and replace...

    SM 52 Back Cylinder Cleaning

yeah thats exactly it... and they work bloody well with a good water miscible wash at about 50% and wont hurt anything, also excellent for cleaning hard ink on back edge of ducts after a full weeks running.

couple of units on my press just refuse to washup

also, it washes up great if i squirt extra wash and water into the train while the auto wash is running, kinda leads me to think theres a roller that's not set correctly allowing no wash to migrate down into the lower rollers. gonna check the actuators right now... Is this resolved??? From...

What color is this c130 955

^^ +1 to Gordo' suggestion... otherwise simply match the sample religiously, and perhaps ensure the client press checks the job after make ready but before running and signs off on a printed sheet... that way mistakes( which can still be made!!) are minimised and your ass is covered regardless :)

    SM 52 Back Cylinder Cleaning

Before blanket washes we got dirty and sweaty!! we get a bit of back cyl mess on the (manual wash) K26, and no one likes to climb under feeder to clean first unit impression cyl's, and like your issue RGPW17100 its more the embossing than the mess that causes drama. They clean the back cyl's...

    Carbonless Paper

Akiyama-King... surely your not suggesting people start threads so they can advertise their products!!! I dont have a particular issue with this, these forums have to be paid for hence the advertisments!! My view is that if someone advertising can find a product that makes my day on the...

couple of units on my press just refuse to washup

Whats changed then? unless your blades have just reached their used by date and just arent doing the job any more, something else has changed.. perhaps the blades look ok but physically are not long enough any more due to wear..can you adjust them or check they are locked up properly??

    SM 52 Back Cylinder Cleaning

I know its an expensive option, but can you look at getting a chrome surface perfecting jacket fitted? We had an old Roland Rekord that was a 4/0,2/2, and it was a bastard of a thing to clean the back cylinder on the 2nd unit until it ate a transfer gripper and damaged the surface, which then...

Printing 4 colour with a 2 colour press?

Agreed...the jobs that use to take me a couple of hours on a GTOZ or 512H take me maybe 20 mins now on the 40 i run, but its very very rare we do small jobs on it unless ganged up or we are between campaigns....

Inline Varnish vs a seperate pass

yeah agreed unless you have only a 4 col and you have to double it thru, otherwise its a time waste and higher chance of marking etc..

Printing 4 colour with a 2 colour press?

Yeah its do-able, but yeah you need a good operator! I know plenty of places that never had 4 col presses and didnt farm out 4 col work, and did a good job of it....dont know if they are still around... You will need a good 2 col press, a speedy, a GTO, or a ryobi with a well trained operator...

Color Management, Standard Densities, oh and some limitations

Its amazing how much a difference good moral can make to a team :) People simply respond better, make that little extra effort, smile when they work and sort problems without the drama they would normally require! Spend some time in the pressroom, bounce some ideas off the boys with the...

The optimum size for a printing company

Printing may be dead, but definately not in our lives and perhaps not for a few generations yet... can i make a point about human nature? We like stuff...tangiable, touchable, possesable items, and in a paperless environment, information on a monitor is just lights lined up into dots to provide...

    6 months layed off-Now What?
