    Tabs on Ricoh

Kyle, The information you need is in the documentation that came with the printer. Look for a CD labeled User Guides or something like that. I could send you the zip file but it's over 13mb and probably too large. The CD will install on your desktop as searchable HTML so once you launch it...

    Tabs on Ricoh

The process for converting pages to tabs differs between Ricoh printers that have a Fiery front end and those that don't. If you care to message me with what you have and what your workflow is and the driver you're using I'd be happy to forward to you some helpful information.

    Ricoh C9200+C7200 v Xerox Iridesse

You can always create a master color profile for both units using the Color Profiler Suite software that comes with it or you can even G7 certify both units. Either way matching color between multiple units and even to offset is very possible. disclosure - I work for Ricoh's production group

Interactive Book Featured at PRINT 18

You only need the CP Clicker App, downloadable from Google Play or the Apple app store. Then you simply take a photo of the text, or image or page and it takes you wherever the link is programmed to take you. If you want to try it out attached is one you can scan yourself. Clickable...

    Which VD format for EFI?

Assuming your Fiery updates are current then I might try using good old VPS (Creo) vdp output format which the Fiery can also process. Just make sure the postscript rip doesn't mess with your transparency levels.

    Spooler / Print Server options

You might want to take a look at RSA's QDirect software. https://www.rocsoft.com/QDirect It does all that you are talking about plus more. I'm not pitching it, rather it's just something I'm familiar with.

    Van Dyke copiers?

A little trip down memory lane.. Do any of you old-timers remember a copier from back in the mid 1970's by a company called Van Dyke Research? They were based out of NJ and where I worked they had an "engineering" copier that would feed and cut from a roll of bond or vellum as I recall and...

Embedded vs External Fiery Server for printing PDF’s and InDesign

When APPE was first included on Ricoh Fiery controllers we recommended not using it as the default unless there was a problem with transparency in which case it usually fixed the issue at the (usually small) expense of RIP time. We did that mainly because sometimes leaving APPE on would break...

Digital press recommendation for printing tabs

Not an expert but I would look into Enfocus Pitstop for Acrobat. The software does a lot and by using customizable action lists you might be able to automate combining pdf's and creating tab pages based on bookmarks. The combining thing is certainly do-able and then you could direct the output...

Embedded vs External Fiery Server for printing PDF’s and InDesign

The other thing to keep in mind is that the Fiery is only part of the equation. The print engine itself has to be capable of high enough resolution in the first place. You might look for models that incorporate VCSEL technology. If a vendor gives you a blank stare when you mention it then...

Image shift Versant 80 / Fiery Work Station

Part of the trouble may be that the 0,0 or x,y starting point may not be the same for every file. Sometimes upper left, sometimes lower left etc. Landscape vs portrait further complicates things. I've suggested to EFI many times that what they should do is provide a thumbnail of the image you...

    Ricoh C9110 recommendations

Yeah as they say, your mileage may vary. This may really actually be one of those cases of "it's the paper". I've had customers on both 9100's and 7100's run #10's quite well and others who give up. I think a lot of it depends on the quality of the envelopes themselves, as in 'you get what...

What about special digital UV coating supply? I seem to remember a rep from Tec Lighting talking about this once. If your coater was never validated for digital then that might be the problem?

    RICOH 7110x Banner Printing

Not sure who told you the 7100 would run 49" banners because as specified in your Customer Expectations Guide the longest sheet through either bypass tray would be 27.5".
