    Reduce Esko PDF size

You can export your imposition out as a one up multipage pdf file. Also, when we export out our pdf files we usually get a pretty small file, just using the jpeg standard compression setting.

    Print 09 Thoughts?

I was there on the weekend and since there wasn't a crowd it was very easy to speak to the suppliers. The only piece of equipment I thought notable was the MGI Jet Varnish press. This is a 23 x 29 (I think) sheet size press that produces spot/flood UV. They are saying in 2 months a second head...

looking for a new color copier (digital press)

I bought from Ikon and I didn't get any blondes. We have 2-Cp650 and put about 200,000-300,000 clicks on bot machines combined a month. If you have good service, I personally think they are the way to go (cost and quality). I also think they have a 500 model now for a lot cheaper.

    advice needed please!

We don't have the time to put jobs on boards. A typical job is in prepress for 1-2 hours, out on proof and then plated in 3o minutes, printed then to bindery. I personally have been trying to find a quick and easy scheduling software for plants that move jobs quickly. It would seem to me that...

    Plate run length w/uncoated stock

We are running the Fuji PJ plates, rated for at least 300k impressions. For the most part we get 300k+. Recently we have had numerous jobs involving uncoated stock where we are only getting between 50k-100k before tinting occurs. Does this sound correct? I think it has more to do with blanket...

I end up having to create a huge pdf file of all the records and process it that way. I use fusion Pro. Any suggestions or solutions on the Fiery end? Is this a software glitch...

    Business Card Web to print

We have had Now Technology (nowtg.com). The reason I went with them vs. the others: price. They charge a small set up fee and then a small monthly fee. That is it. You don't have to lay out $30,000 immediately. That is the biggest problem with web2print solutions today. It is very hard to find a...

    Konica Minolta 6500 - Thoughts

We have had one for about 2 years now and am looking at acquiring another one. I think it is well worth a closer look. The price doesn't even compare to the Xerox. You could probably buy three of the Minolta's to one of the Xerox. I personally like the quality of the Minolta over the Xerox. I...
