    postcard & doorhanger machine - 100lb cover

As someone who puts more than 200K 12x18 clicks per month down, (and someone who has owned the x700) I would quickly tell you not to look at any version of the 700 (inc. 770) for that volume. The spec sheet doesn't want more than 70K (LTR) size prints per month and my Xerox reps are quick to...

Pro Digital Paper on Xerox 5000

We use the Spicers brand (it's the same paper as they are sister companies) and have about 12,000 pounds of it in the back waiting to go through our DC5000's. Stay away from the 70# Text as it curls like a SOB but the other weights run fine. (Ironically better than the Xerox brand paper for us!)

    KM C7000 vs RICOH C751EX

I can't believe they claim that is as good as it gets! I'd personally throw that machine in the street if it were in my shop! We run Xerox machines here and I showed your photo to our sales rep and our tech and both agreed it sucked (but you already knew that!). We all got a chuckle out of...

Is an iGen 4 really worth it?

We currently have 3 Docucolor 5000AP from Xerox, while I am pleased with the image quality and the value, I am not pleased with the reliability (or lack of) as we see techs 4 days a week on average. We feel replacing the three DC5000's with two Xerox 8080's is a better plan, however, Xerox is...

    Konica Minolta: Color Centro Calibration

While I do not have that particular machine, I have run KM boxes in the past. The "Coat" curve is calibration on Coated papers. "Uncoat" is for uncoated papers. You do not manually select which curve to use, it is based on the paper selected for the job (whether it is loaded as coated or...

    Xerox 800 Rip times

I would run a number of tests on your files... We had a 1000 with the FreeFlow and had a bunch of issues with the RIP and communication between the rip and IOT. Don't know specifically on the Fiery, but I would be leery as it is a new RIP and new Box.

Xerox DocuColor 5000 versus DocuColor 7002/8002

iGen, now featuring $20,000 in buildout, a monthly payment that would pay for 7 DC5000APs and a click charge that increases my per page cost by 20%+. I know, I know, I get the cheap black clicks (anyone care to do the math on how many black clicks it takes to offset the lease payment increase...

    Anyone have PitStop Server 10

Two months ago I forked over $10,800 for PitStop Server 10 and Power Switch 9. To date it has been virtually useless because PitStop Server keeps crashing when trying to flatten pages. The only way I can get things through our PrePress flow that we have set up in Power Switch is to manually...

    Your opinions/experience needed!

12pt C2S... I wouldn't go with a X700... I have had 2... Through a contract dispute we had to replace the first one (gotta love the dealer realizing that they are losing money on the click rate they agreed to and deciding they were not going to ship any more toner). It was amazing... Didn't go...

Xerox DocuColor 5000 versus DocuColor 7002/8002

Because, in this space there are only a few players and every other one has been eliminated: Ricoh 900/901 -- looks like crap on Gloss Text as there is no (zero/zilch) gloss on the printed area (80%+ of our paper is gloss text) KM 6000/7000 Slows down to much on higher gsm/coated papers KM 8000...

Xerox DocuColor 5000 versus DocuColor 7002/8002

We do approximately 120,000-160,000 12x18 printed sides per month per machine.

    Problems with Ricoh 901

What is this "common sense" you speak of? I am a Xerox Customer and have never heard of such a thing! ;)

Xerox DocuColor 5000 versus DocuColor 7002/8002

I've got JMSTONES back on this one... We have 3 DC5000APs and our reorder point is 36 color drums. We go through about 20 per week and it fails exactly as described. All three machines. (As for environment, we are digital only and run HEPA filters throughout so it's not that--and Xerox...

Xerox Color 1000 Press with Xerox FreeFlow RIP - thoughts and experiences

I am the guy that returned my X1000 with Free Flow in December. I had a ton of stability issues with the FreeFlow communicating with the IOT. Most were fixed by the last round of patches. Never noticed the Black only clicking as color (considering I paid $12,000 in clicks for our brief time...

    Xerox Color 1000 Press

I noticed the loss of connectivity with my free flow rip often... (Very often). The jams are a major pain in the backside due to the fact that you must clear the entire path on every jam. Have they blamed your paper yet?

    Xerox Color 1000 Press

I find your test interesting... I returned my Xerox 1000 due to banding in the cross process directions with 50% tints and measured a delta e variation of over 7 on a solid green color in 1000 copies. (Green to blue). So, how is your machine not having issues and I was told there was nothing...

Xerox freeflow vs fiery as issues?

Call XRite and get an RMA Number to send the unit it. It is out of pocket as Xerox won't pay for it (Usually $200-$300 per unit). You have to send the calibration tile in with the spectrophotometer or it will get returned to you. Takes a couple of weeks to do minimum.
