Have you tried contacting the manufacturers of different presses?

Your ink supplier can run a test to determine tack. If you are running out of kits, it should be printed on the label because ink tack is important when determining ink rotations.

One more thing to point out, sometimes the servo motors stop working for the front lays. I know that on the older presses, if they couldn't establish their zero points that the numbers would flash on the monitor. We always had ours set on 11,00 but there were times they would move or get moved...

But the question again is, has anyone checked to make sure the front lays are correctly set and that the plate cylinders are at their zero point? There is something different between the two presses. Fix the press that is wrong.

I guess the thing they would need to do is make the new machines so much more efficient and dependable than previous models. The problem is that you would probably have to retrain all the press operators. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose a couple of press manufacturers in the next year or two.
