Need Help with Choosing a Printer

Because of the ability to set (and forget) the image transfer manually into a preset (custom paper settings) which maps to the paper catalog in the fiery, running synthetics is fine on both.

Fuji Xerox... anyone know much about the new press?

Well, its all in the youtube video... 400gsm, 26", clear white silver gold, one of them under and one above. CMYK in the middle. FS300 to boot. Its a proven platform and should be just as better as the new versants were to the old one. Oh, and smallest EA toner to date. There's a few other...

I envy you then, sincerely! Here in Vancouver the porridge formation syndrome prevails!

Xerox 550 - Toner banding, Black Issue & Muddy Colurs

Take a sheet of your stock, walk to the nearest spotlight (round), stick the paper on the spotlight, allow the camera to focus and show the picture here. Your paper formation, I'd wager, is offset and looks like porridge. Let's see!

Correct way to perform calibrations? (Xerox V180 + EFI Fiery + CWS)

It is exaggerated, but this link will help explain what those renditions do. https://graphics.stanford.edu/courses/cs178/applets/gamutmapping.html Use Photographic/Perceptual in 'pleasing color' mode for smoother gradients. If you are creating a profile for spot colour accuracy, make sure you...

Correct way to perform calibrations? (Xerox V180 + EFI Fiery + CWS)

Hi, For disclosure I'm a Xerox analyst. When I setup stocks for a machine, I follow these simple rules to ensure great results. -1- ENSURE your drums are in good shape! For profiling at least 80% on each. in color quality the base of the pyramid is the quality of your hardware. 0- Create a...

    Versant 180 Installed

You would want to use a custom paper settings and custom paper size, works like a charm see this https://youtu.be/zlm76zsvOfc For Quark, escalate it to Second Level ,... Quark had this problem before with Fiery drivers they just keep having regression issues... or simply save as a pdf to a hot...

Looking for crisp color digital printing at 1.4pt in size

I printed 1 and 2 points legible text using a Versant 80 with Fiery. Turn on 'Use maximum printer density' in the image tab. With VIPP MicroText you could print a third of that (0.6 pt I think). https://www.xerox.com/en-us/digital-...ecure-printing and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASgsBJrKBO4

    Versant 180 Installed

If you are using the three parts tool for envelopes out of tray 6 or 7 I've noticed that the smaller part meant to push down the little black level that signifies that there's paper in the machine sometimes lifts up (its not heavy enough) and so that can trip your printing. Otherwise, try using...

    5th color station weigh-in

The shops that sell this well have trained their own customers on the opportunity. You go see them with samples, have your designer adapt jobs with clear and show both. It takes time but it you educate your customers many will buy in and see the value. "Build it and they will come really doesn't...

fuji xerox Versant 180 verse Versant 80

That's a specific to Versant. I would expect to see it in the next generations of Color Presses and D series as well (Shooting from the hips saying that however)

    Xerox V180 press

If your envelopes are digitally certified then they'll run the windows without any crinkling. They run beautifully. I work for Xerox and all my customers are happy with them. Go print a whole box in the demo room! Set them up as uncoated/220gsm and the custom paper size preset will help avoid...

How do I explain to a client that a CMYK value is not an actual color?

So here's how I explain to customers... "... so if you asked me where's the nearest Starbucks I could answer you 'about five'.." But that wouldn't really help you, would it? Five miles? Five minutes? Five what? You need a frame of reference, a map, to properly interpret that answer. Its the...

Adobe, Pantone and their &%(#& LaB values!

First off, set using Bridge your color space to GRACoL 2006 for all your apps. See this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/using-bridge-synchronize-color-settings.html Then, if you are using a digital printer and a Fiery show us a screenshot of your Color Settings diagram.

fuji xerox Versant 180 verse Versant 80

There are over 600 tiny engineering pluses in there. Most notably is the finisher (full bleed, 30 sheets 24lb booklets, full size/weight inserter before finishing), the temperature sensor to deskew on long runs and better registration. Best upgrade option from Xerox C560?

If you get a C60 with a highcap feeder you'll have pretty good duplexing on 220 and decent duplexing (manual) on 300. Its also rated now for coated stocks so it jams much less. People who moved to Versants fell in love again :) I work for Xerox and I've seen a lot of folks moving to Versant and...

Xerox Color 560 solid color problem

On the 550 you'll have a PC app you can install to use the Density Uniformity Adjustment tool. Its on a SIQA cd. Here's a link for you: http://tiny.cc/siqa_cd Now know that you can run this tool over and over again. Only needed to do that once but in that specific case, I ran the tool five...
