    PressCheck Compare Software

Probably just a digital comparator software like EyeC or Global Vision. Those are the leaders. There was a lesser company that had a software that did the comparison in a negative format. Can't recall the name. At the time it wasn't sophisticated enough so we went with EyeC. It's for content, I...

    Epson P9000 cut sheet question

Thanks but it's really not worth all that effort. Hoping for a simple, quick fix, otherwise I can live with it.

Print head alignment and banding of light Cyan on P9000

I have to agree with you. I have 3 P9000's and an SC-T5270...they all clog like mad. I think they're designed that way to waste ink with forced cleanings, in turn, forcing the consumer to purchase more ink. Epson's phone support is pitiful. I have figured out every issue on my own way before...

The great thing about the corona virus

This thread is ridiculous and should be deleted. Even the title is offensive. It seems no one here has had this disease impact them directly. This is an immediate life or death threat. Of course people are responding to survive although I see very many ignoring distancing and carrying on as if...

    Ring AM screening?

I can find any evidence that Esko currently supports concentric screening. Must be a legacy product by now.

    Ring AM screening?

This was an old Artwork Systems screening. The concept was to lay down a thinner ink layer keeping colors cleaner and having more control and possibly expanding the gamut. None of these things ever seem to really take off.

    Epson P9000 cut sheet question

Thanks, but that's not it. It's set perfectly fine. I wonder if the pressure is slightly less or maybe the sheet size sensor is calibrated slightly different than my other 2 P9000's. It's not a game changer but it can be a PITA.

    Epson P9000 cut sheet question

Hi. I have 3 P9000's, all about 2 years old or so. I run Oris Color Tuner to all 3. Identical parameters. One of them always drops the cut sheet after printing. The others hang like they should and allow more drying time. This one dumps it on the floor. I did a firmware upgrade a few months back...

    Esko Powertrapper

There's no 100% method for perfect auto trap once there's masked images, complicated blends, gradient mesh, document effects, etc. Inspection on that level would need a dedicated QC person or operators would never get anything done.

    G7 Usage

Great concept. Highly impractical. If it looks good...if it looks right...if it matches proof or sample...I don't care what numbers you have, run it! We don't have time for nonsense. I think G7 became a "must have" buzz word...not without merit, but to me it became a smoke and mirrors, money...

    Esko Powertrapper

Hard to say without seeing the example. I usually have an idea of which areas may be problematic from a trapping standpoint and focus in on those areas for the check. If it's a gap problem, that field is adjustable. May just take some experimentation...unfortunately a bit too late in this case.

What's Driving Mac vs. PC Purchasing Today?

Mac is simply more elegant in design and is not a maintenance nightmare without IT certification. Having the OS so tied to the actual hardware makes it feel like a more complete, quality product. Their hardware is just really nice...a cut above. Ex.: Time Machine...a continuous bootable back up...

Esko Products and Apple Catalina Support

I'm surprised this topic hasn't had more response. I'm upgrading to Deskpack 18.1 at the moment. Seems like they actually added a new type of semi interactive trapping.

I'm sticking with Mojave for a while. We still have two 32 bit programs we use regularly.

Which is the best Inkjet Proofing system, which can print on Acutal Paper ?

I would think you'd need a UV printer to do it right. We do it at my plant sometimes with our P9000. You need to set it for the finest ink dot possible and allow extended drying time between each head pass. It's all about piling and drying. They still need to be coated with something to prevent...

    CTP affordable recommendations

Definitely Screen. Been using Screen platesetters for the past 16 years in 2 different plants. Never a major repair and never a thing to complain about. Rock solid.
