Yeah, those capstan imagesetters weren't fun. I was a Scitex guy from the beginning so I never had to deal with that.

Size problem is only in the feed direction. Experimenting with creating a custom paper to possibly correct that.

I do have an Oris RIP.

Using the Epson driver which is very limited. It's the standard version printer and I wonder if the PS version would give me more options. I will test further tomorrow but it seems to be a problem in the feed direction. Maybe it's the difference in tension between the rolls?

Our old filmsetter finally bit the dust. I have a Epson Surecolor T-5270 that I am trying to use to print our dielines. I am getting all sorts of sizing and ink adhesion issues. I'm trying 2 Sihl products, Absolute Clear and Accurate Screen as well as a Cartolith product. I'm not 100% pleased...

Just wondering if the OS upgrade, although minor, has created any unusual issues interacting with CC and Deskpack. Clearly Deskpack users need to stay on CC 2014 until September, but any OS upgrade can create issues. I'm not sure why it seems such an odd question.

I had to build a 13 color pasta sauce label on a Scitex workstation before the advent of NLW (New Line Work for those who remember those days) which meant that I was limited to 4 colors per file. In other words I had 4 individual files that had to trap to each other without being able to see...

Take a look at a Raster Blaster TIFF Catcher with a USB interface from Xitron. We have a PlateRite 8600 and use Xitron's Navigator RIP with the interface. Works great...good support. We use the same Fuji plates as well.

Epson WT7900...Had one when they first came out...not the greatest, but it allowed me to proof on metallic substrate which was critical for our business.

We'll get it done in anything including Corel...it's just preference and the ability to use Esko Deskpack in Illustrator...I don't see packaging specific tools developed for Indesign, unless I'm missing something.

I'm with you...keep Indesign out of packaging and labeling.
