Reviewing separations in a PDF file

Our sales team would like to review ESKO pdf files prior to submitting to the customer for approval. Is it possible to get an additional Viewer license so they could view files at a central workstation in the sales area? They would all be able to share and take turns. They really need to be able to view separations not just layers. Is there a way to do this in ESKO? They are currently using Acrobat Reader which is limited in function. We could get another license for Acrobat Professional-we are just looking for the most efficient and cost effective solution.

Do you have the Viewer in the AE Pilot? If so then you can install Pilot on each CSR’s computer and limit their views and functionality to finding and viewing files if you like. AE can even notify the CSR when the file is ready for their inspection. You can use Pilot (and it’s Viewer) for as many concurrent licenses that you have for Pilot. If you feel you need more licenses contact your Esko sales rep. or toll free: 800-743-7131.
Of coarse if viewing and approvals are the name of the game Esko has WebCenter which links to and from your AE to automate approvals and workflows together. Good Luck.

Thanks eskopdl! I did contact ESKO and it seems installing Pilot on a shared sales workstation will be the best solution for us now. They said to just create a new user named "sales", give them a password, and restrict their privileges to viewing only. As long as we can train them to sign out of Automation Engine so we don't tie up a license unnecessarily. That WebCenter option sounds promising-we'll have to look into that. Thanks again.

The sales team only has Acrobat Reader which limits them to viewing layers not separations-unless you know a sweet trick?

How do I limit the functionality to just finding and viewing files-I can't seem to find that

So is there a way to access Automation Engine in a web browser by typing in a url and IP address?

Here is a link to learn about how to set Users Access Rights.
Access Rights

As far as accessing Automation Engine in a web browser-this will not help you view the files as the original request indicated. There is a Web Administrator, but that is for configuring Automation Engine as well as other various functions.
Web Admin

Thanks for the link Marco. As far as the web browser question goes I was pretty far down the rabbit hole on that one.

Go to Complete Manual.
Click open the Reference Guide in the left column of the page.
Click open on The Tools.
Click on Users.
There you can read about Defining User Access Rights and Views. You can set up your “Sales” user to only have certain functionalities and turn off their ability to see Tickets for example.
