    Xerox 800/1000 Press

Why not get a preowned Igen3 for less than the 800/1000. I can imagine the cost of the new 800/1000 will be very high and due to the fact that they are untested in the marketplace as of now. You can get a tried and true IGEN3 for probably a 3rd of the cost and has a great track record. Let me...

    What happened to training rant?

That's why independent techs like myself make a good living...lol. I have trained so many customers using Xerox, on self maintenance and the use of their Fiery/Creo/DocuSp that I get a lot of business.

Best monitor and printer color calibrator

Check with your Xerox dealer and any other print shops in your local area and make sure that there are no issues with getting toner for the 700. Also ask about the copy quality issues that have been happening on the 700 to see if they have corrected them yet. The color quality from inboard to...

    DC 6060 oiling problem??

Doc 12 not necessary due to the speed of the printer, but if you have done all of the adjustments on the 2060 fuser and are still having fuser offsetting then it might be a good time to switch to the 5000/8000 fuser oil. I had this problem on 2 6060s and I double checked all the adjustments...

Leasing Rates for DC6060 or WC7655

DC6060 lease? DC6060 lease? Why not purchase a refurbished dc 6060. It will be waaay cheaper than leasing from Xerox . Give me a call if that's something you might consider. 714-292-6912 I'm not a salesman if you were curious, I'm an independent xerox tech.

    DC 6060 oiling problem??

I highly recommend switching to the Docucolor 8000 fuser oil. I have dealt with this exact problem and the thinner oil evenly distributes onto the fuser faster and smoother. I guarrantee this will fix the problem if all the other alignments have been done to the fuser assembly. If you have any...

    which better 2-wc 7655 or 1-dc 6060

PM me and let me know what the 7655s are going for. I have a contact in San Diego that might be able to get you a better deal on a 240/250 with external RIP which is way better than the bustled one for the 7655 family. My phone number is 714-292-6912

    which better 2-wc 7655 or 1-dc 6060

I would keep the 6060 and maybe upgrade the Doc 12 to a 240/250 with external rip. I know the quality output is different between the 6060 and 240/250 but what it lacks in gloss output it makes up for in speed. Do you do your own service or is it on a service plan? Where are you located?

    Xerox 700 anyone?

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

I know the HCSS will not accept 300gsm in the high cap tray but should take in the top output tray. The 8000AP is a good machine. I've refurbed one and serviced a few. It takes all weights of paper at the same print speed due to the AP at the end. The AP stands for extra NVM values for fuser...

    Black & white machine

What about a Xerox WC 4127/4112? I just recently had a customer install a 4127 and within 18 days had run 400,000 8.5X11 in. prints with only a minor problem with the pressure roll. That's it!

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

Ask your technician if he has done an NVM initialization on your machine. Sounds like software corruption . I have had a few 6060s and 8000s come back to life after doing a full NVM init.. They will have to do some re-adjustments afterwards but it may help. There is also a setup on the lasers to...

Fiery Ex RIP + 700 = Color Problems?!

I've worked on some 700 and Igens and from what I can gather , the least amount of profiles you setup the better. The time used to set up each profile and recalibrate everytime you use it is exhausting. I would try to use the default profiles as much as possible and manually adjust in the color...

    Xerox DC242 or DC250?

The only "upgrade" is the speed. This is an older machine with older software. Tell them you want your 242 that you paid for.

    Lease vs Purchase copier

The first thing you should always do is check out refurbished equipment prices. You can save a ton of money versus new. The only thing you have to do is make sure your getting a truly refurbed machine..ie HFSI's done, stripped down, cleaned and repainted is a truly refurbed machine.

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

Sounds like an issue with the black drum. The drums on the 700 and 242 family are VERY light sensitive. I have had the same issue by accidently not getting a drum covered properly and it ruined the drum. I had to replace the drum because it was left exposed for more than 2 minutes.
