    Rating Tech Support

They'll be rating my support on a scale of 1-10. 1-9 being abysmal, and 10 being acceptable. Please give me a 10, or I won't be eligible for the bonus they keep dangling in front of me, but I've never met the metric for.

So... I knew I was going to regret it!

We're with Canon and it's not much different at times. Toner machines have a lot of points of failure, and sometimes when it rains it pours. I recently had a primary fuser rebuilt, then our ITB had defects so it was replaced, and now I need another primary fuser roller because something dinged...

Xerox 700i for Sale in Los Angeles $1500

I'm not sure I'd pay $150 for a used Xerox 700. That machine wasn't impressive new.

Printing Tabs - Straight or Reverse

My b&w printer needs straight collated tabs so that's what I order. We also typically use 6 bank tabs. They don't have a center, so it's easier to re-use them.

    Versant 280 Polyester Issue

We use Synaps XM instead of Poliprint, but the Synaps paper guide says run it single sided one pass at a time and set the stock profile to "Film". It also says 14pt is untested on the 280, so it may just not be a good fit for your printer. I wasn't able to find a compatibility guide for the...

    edge printing on Xerox V280

It's super common for the margins to not be even. Sometimes it will bleed or almost bleed on one side. There might be some adjustments you or the tech can do, but I've seen it happen on Xerox, Canon and KM printers, so it's not unique to your equipment. I haven't used a Fiery in a long time...

Polar 92 EMC Cutting Machine's Cutting Light Fuse

I know this is old, but that's what we did on our cutter. I just used one of those cheap ones that goes underneath kitchen cabinets. It has a little switch on it so I can turn it off when the cutter is idle so it doesn't burn out. I just used double sided tape to stick it near the existing bulbs.

Does Anyone Have the Duplo DBM-150 Face Trimming Unit

As small as the machine is, I was honestly surprised the face trimmer is an add-on. We got ours with the face trimmer last November and it's done a good job. You occasionally get a crooked trim, but that's my experience with most booklet makers. Sometimes you just get a bad feed here and there.

    The Negotiation

Oddly enough, JC Penny tried this and it basically put them out of business. American's are so conditioned to sales, that when someone prices something at the actual price they assume it's a poor product. Can There Ever Be a Fair Price? Why Jcpenney’s Strategy Backfired

Canon USA Charging Shipping on Contract Supplies?

I just ordered 12 boxes of toner last week for our ImagePress 10000 and it came to $197 which seems about right for freight. $500 seems high, but maybe you order a lot more than we do at a time.

Canon USA Charging Shipping on Contract Supplies?

Yeah, they're charging us too. My boss was pretty pissed, but so far hasn't had any luck fighting it.

    Plockmatic Pro35

Generally in-line finishers treat each file as a set, so unless there's some kind of subset finishing option in your controller, you'll need to send it as 500 1 page documents. It should be pretty easy with a hotfolder. Acrobat has a feature that allows you to split pages, so you could just tell...

Konica 6100 / Fiery issue with transparency

How do you print to your fiery? Are you using Hotfolder, or the print driver? Your driver might be overwriting settings. I don't use the driver for anything on our printers.
