pam_add the device plug-in for the Screen devices is an integrated part of the HQ510-RIP. HQ510-RIP is the Screen branded version of the Harlequin RIP. The oldest HQ510-RIP I know was v5 for a Katana film setter. I hope it helps you.

Hi Nutech Shroff, according to the Introduction.pdf above, you can use Screen´s TrueFlow & Equios workflows and the HQ510-RIP (Harlequin). For a current Harlequin-RIP e.g. Xitron Navigator v12 you would need a Xitron blue box interface instead.

Hi pressmachines, the last Naviagtor RIP which could drive an old Xitron PCI interface would be Navigator v10 (x32) in combination with the belonging Xitron 32bit Screen PTR device plug-in. A second hand item won´t so easy to find.

It could be a solution only when you would find an older Xitron Navigator (x32) with the right Screen plug-in. PCI cards and 32bit plug-ins are not supported anymore by the current Navigator v12 (x64). The whole pacckage would be now: Xitron Navigator v12 & Screen PTR plug-in & USB blue box...

If your plate setter is controlled by a TIFF-shooter, you can try out various compressions (CCITT G3/G4, LZW, Packbits, Packwords...) to shrink the 1bit TIFF job files. It depends on your RIP and TIFF-shooter capabilities.

Even if it is an old Screen HQ510-RIP coming with your second-hand plate write 4300, you can easily upgrade to the latest Xitron Navigator v12 (Harlequin) & Xitron´s blue box interface.
