I would also post this in the FujiFilm forum as Xitron Sierra is a lower level version of XMF.

    InDesign CC 2017 lagging issue

Here is another one of our late-2012 27" iMacs that I upgraded last weekend. It literally went from about a 3 minute boot-up to a 5 second boot-up

    InDesign CC 2017 lagging issue

We have several 2012 27" iMacs. We are on the Creative Cloud. We had MAJOR lagging issues. That all went away when I replaced our platter HDDs with SSDs. It is not an easy process as the iMacs are sealed, but absolutely worth it!

Pitstop 17 and Acrobat DC issues

This seems odd to me. Acrobat is the vehicle that you are hitching a ride from. Enfocus should be programming code to meet the the specs Acrobat that Adobe has written, not the other way around. You produce a plug-in for Acrobat. Without that application you would not exist. Asking them to...

The case against the EPS file.

With .eps files you need to make sure that the Document Raster Effect settings are at least 300dpi otherwise vignettes and drop shadows will band. A lot of designers are not aware of this.

    macOS Sierra

Hi all. We are still running Rampage 12.3.23 until we make the move to a currently supported DFE. Has anyone upgraded to macOS Sierra (10.12.x) with the use of the Rampage client? Experiences? Incompatibilities? Thanks so much!

    Production Planner Notes

Worked on a job today and this was in the prepress/press instructions... "PLEASE NOTE: THIS JOB WILL RUN SHEETWISE FOR DRYING PURPOSES. BUT TECHNICALLY, THE SAME IMAGE PRINTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SHEET AS IF THE RUN IS WORK & TURN." Uh... isn't that a W&Turn?

    Adobe Acrobat DC Crashes

I had similar issues with DC. But it seems that the latest update/patch has helped me with significantly fewer crashes. The latest version is 2015.010.20060

    Does anyone use Quark anymore?

We use Q2!D from Markzware to convert QuarkXPress files into InDesign. It does a decent job. I don't use it on publications though, I am terrified of re-flow.

    Snickers Retoucher

Having been a retoucher since the launch of Photoshop 25 years ago, I found this to be quite funny. This was the OBC of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue I just received in the mail.

    Premedia Specialist

Premedia Specialist We used to call this position a “Prepress Operator”, but it has become so much more, hence the title. This industry is evolving so quickly that it is hard to keep up. That being said, this is an AWESOME opportunity for the right individual. Here is what we...

    Identifying layered TIFs in InDesign

One of the Links palette options it to show layer overrides, but this only works with PSDs. Some one should suggest to Adobe to make it work with TIFFs.

Sudden Mac/PC Network Failure. Need Help

Are you certain that it is asking for the Mac Mini's password and not the username and password of the Harlequin RIP? BTW, AppleTalk was discontinued in OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

    Men vs Women

Wow.... another case of being too PC! Lighten up Francis! I am not biased or pandering to women. I am just stating what I have noticed in my career journey. I was also trying to interject some humor. I just noticed that everyone that I've crossed paths with in my career that were introduced to...
