Long Shot: Check the reflective sticker on the top side of the drum (LHS from back of the Lotem).

It may have been called Elmo by the Scitex technicians. It is located at the bottom of the D-Box (Distribution Box).

Buying major vendors' modern rip/workflow usually mean entering a costly subscription agreement, which usually entail mandatory upgrading of hardware. This may become quite a burden for smaller shops.

You may want to check out stand-alone rips such as Harlequin and StudioRip.

I gather that this LP 2000 Beida card is not going to replaces a card in the Dolev. Xitron/Compose cards reside inside their specific external interconnection box. Seems strange that a Scitex card will fit that system, do you actually know anyone using this card?

The Scitex RIP is software, not hardware. The latest versions run on a Unix workstation/server (BRISQUE) that sends the bitmapped imaging data via the TSP card/cable to the Dolevs' Electronics Box. Try peeking under the BEIDA sticker and see what is written on the PCB. BTW, on which card is...

Please describe the lines (thickness, spacing etc.). are they caused by laser exposure or lack of it. Try changing drum rotation speeds and laser intensities. Also, write the cat. numbers of the original TSP card and the replacement. BTW, where about are you located?

Take out the Interlock Board and check if it has burn (short-circuit) marks. It happened to us a few years ago, the burnt item was replaced and the Lotem was fixed.

Did you try to replace the Interlock Board? Concerning your 2nd Lotem - I am not a trained technician but AFAIK, if a spare TSP board has the same type of connector, it should work. However, I would start by unplugging the TSP board and cleaning the connectors.
