Want to upgrade from Xerox Versant 180, recommendations please

They're both gonna have insanely slow hardware in them anyway. We've got external Fiery on both our Primelink's and it's woefully under powered. Like 8gb ram and an HDD that is abysmally slow. It takes almost 10 minutes to reboot.

Want to upgrade from Xerox Versant 180, recommendations please

Depends on what you purchase. I'd suggest something simple like Quite Imposing. It's a perpetual license for a little under $1000. Ask a salesperson if they can bundle it in with your machine purchase, that's what we did years ago.

Best practices for maintaining color consistency with high-yield cartridges?

I think if someone wants 10,000 of an item on a toner box they need to set some realistic expectations. At the end of the day, it's a glorified copy machine, not a press, despite all the marketing saying otherwise. If you've got a full flood background on a 13x19 sheet that's 4-2-2-0 that color...

    What is print?

Art will be fine, he's still got the import-export business he can fall back on.

    Any cloud storage users?

Seems a little tin foil-y to be so concerned about cloud security when the majority of your files are likely coming in through extremely insecure channels. It's all just security theater at the end of the day, nothing is actually secure.

Looks like the ApeosPro C is just the Xerox Primelink C9200. I don't know much about it, but I do know that Canon machine is hot garbage. It's basically an office printer, and I'd never try to use it to sell work from.

    Canon VP140 automatic drum cleaning?

Sorry I can't help there. I only ran the 6000 and a 4120 which didn't use the newer drums. Did you check for "glue detection interval"? Maybe that needs to be turned on first.

    Canon VP140 automatic drum cleaning?

Try the system tab, then maintenance on the left. I think it says maintenance tasks and it should be in the list of available tasks. https://docs.cpp.canon/help?tsm=ODP000166-8.1EN.US&pageid=GUID-732BB682-050A-4543-8AAC-385305DB556D.xml That's for manual drum cleaning. Automatic drum cleaning...

    KM1 Output

We recently found a printer that's close by that has a KM1 and had a job run there. The output is really fantastic, but it smelled absolutely awful. Another employee and I had a ton of sinus issues and developed headaches from the smell. I even left it in our warehouse for 24 hours with a box...

    Xerox Proficio Range

I'd look at an Canon Varioprint 6000 then. You don't need a post inserter, because the paper path can just be diverted which allows you to use any tray as an insert tray. You can also do a split & merge, so if you have a book with 15 color pages and 190 b&w you can just run all the color pages...

Xerox Primelink / Ricoh Pro 8410

The drum and webs have a little instruction sheet inside on how to install them. The drum is just a turn of a knob, and a release lever and then it slides out and you put in the brand new one. The web is just two small nuts you loosen, then drop the new one in and press two keys on the control...

Xerox Primelink / Ricoh Pro 8410

We have two Mono Primelink B9136 machines. The print quality is actually quite good, and they're super low maintenance. Just have to change the drums and cleaning webs when it asks you. We put about 300k a month split between both of the machines for an insurance client. If you don't have a...

    Lower Cost Printer

Not having a maintenance agreement is such a terrible move imo. The amount of boards we've needed replaced that were in the thousands of dollars has more than paid for itself. It's one thing to do basic maintenance, but complex repairs will bury you financially off contract.

    IjetColor NXT

How up to date is this info? We had to update firmware since all the new inks are chipped. I'd be concerned that third party inks wouldn't be accepted.

Thoughts on Bulk Mailings and Software Recommendations

We use Lorton's A-Qua mailer. We have an old Buskro addresser and Secap tabber. You might want to consider offering a job to one of the mail experts at the shops that are closing. There's a lot to learn, and it'll save a lot of headache to bring someone on with existing knowledge. We usually...

    Ricoh 7500 5th Color

We have a Xerox Iridesse and they provided a book with design guidelines for all the additional toner options. I'd suggest reaching out to your sales team for the same.

Fiery Printer Logs - Is Duplex missing?

If you want to track your operator settings, have them print out a job details page you can keep with the printed output. It's in the "summary" tab of your job details, then the top right button will print all the job details. The fiery logs just tracks clicks, not settings.

is it unrealistic to expect good photo prints out of a CMYK digital toner press?

Yearbooks I'd do, but no, I think toner is a terrible device for actual photo printing.
