Canon VP140 automatic drum cleaning?

What am I missing?

Our old Varioprint 135 had an option for automatic drum cleaning. The manual for the VP140 says there is an option for automatic drum cleaning. We do not have an Automatic Drum Cleaning button under [System] >> [Setup] >> [Advanced Media Settings]?

Is this something that has to be licensed, or turned on by a technician?

Technician confirmed, Canon VarioPrint 140 version 9.1.5.
Automatic Drum Cleaning is missing from the user interface (regardless of user, including admin and service). If this is by design or omission, completely unknown at this time.

Try the system tab, then maintenance on the left. I think it says maintenance tasks and it should be in the list of available tasks.

That's for manual drum cleaning. Automatic drum cleaning has to be enabled. I'm pretty sure it's done from the web interface when you log in with the printer IP.

Confirmed by technician. If "Drum Reference Data" is set to "IGNORE" within service mode, "Automatic Drum Cleaning" will NOT display in the Media Advanced options.

by changing "Drum Reference Data" to "Allow", perform a drum "calibration" (forget what it was called), then reboot the machine. Automatic Drum Cleaning is now available.
