If the client does not have proofing software (RIP) how would they utilize the ICC profile?

Normally I would agree but this has been a wonderful client up until yesterday. The client is great, the new color consultant, not so much.

Thank you both but how do I nicely explain to someone that they do not know what they are talking about? That the world of offset printing can not hit the same colors that a 10 color Epson proof can hit and that is why we use a rip to dumb down the colors to match a 4 color offset?

I don't have "Later color management" checked and I have problems with RGB files. I tried using Acrobat to fix the pdf files and convert the RGB images to CMYK but it did not fix them. I have version 8.0r6 and print to the RIP using Preps6.

We are getting a new system for our shop and are considering going used instead of new. Used we would buy a used Fuji Dart. New would be the Kodak Magnus with quantum upgrade and square spot. We would be running some sort of "Chem free" plate. Any suggestions on these systems?

We are looking into going "chem free" also. I have seen shops running Kodak, Fuji and Presstek plates. The Presstek plate uses a water rinse unit so the plates get cleaned before they hit the press. Grain Direction Grain Direction We had the same issue when running 14pt on our 6500. I switched the grain direction to Grain Short and the problem went away. It seems that these machines like Grain Short when running thick stock.

We have experienced the same issue Tango c2s but we are printing on an offset press. Once we switched paper our issue disappeared. It seems that the coating on the board stock is inconsistent and the result is a marbling or mottling in the image.

Re: Fuzy Text with Creo IC-304 and C6500 It is not only the text but any Non-vector file. If I take a photoshop pdf of a black and white logo and drop it into a virtual printer on the creo, the output is not sharp, even when the file is clean and over 300 dpi.
