    Spot UV (aka Varnish, Gloss)

Find someone with a Nexpress. It has a "clear" ink that is better than UV and even has the ability to do textures too. AWESOME!! We saw some samples recently and we were blown away at its abilities. Really is the next Gen of printing.

    Preps 5 and nesting

So do you then RIP the imposed pdf that you created in Preps?? Thats awesome! We impose pdf's all the time for our digital press but it hadn't occurred to me to do it for the sheetfed side of things :). I know on previous versions of preps you could nest stuff but this version just doesnt work...

    Proper SpotUV setup

It depends on how complicated the file is. Most of the time we just correct the clients files and charge extra prepress time for it. If its very simple then we just output the UV as a seperate file/pdf. We print transparencies for our UV vendor so it works out. Ultimately we prefer all layers...

    Service Call Rate - Xerox 700 / KM C6501 / Canon C6000

I dont know about page count, but our xerox 700 needs service or repair 2-3 times per week. I am surprised by the amount of constant repair and color issues it has. We never had a digital press before, but our digital press operator has a bunch of experience. He says that the color isnt...

    graveyard shifts

The advice you have from others here is pretty good but unless you are enjoying working nights, I suggest getting a new job. Working nights screws with your life bad. I was on graves for 7 years and I hated it to the core. Earplugs, sleeping pills, blacked out windows, 4-5 hour sleep nights...

    How to pick up jobs?

Thanks man. So.. You can import just the sigs? How does RAMpage plate a file that has no ripped pages. I am assuming that the ripped pages are archived and not imported or visible anywhere.

    How to pick up jobs?

Hey everybody! I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to consistently pick up jobs. The RAMpage current method is to "export" the previous job if its still on the client and then "import" it as a new named job. BUT then you have to go to the "FPO profile" for the new job and make...

    Rampage V11

I dont know about Rampage version 11 verses any other version. In prinergy it always seemed like you had templates set and that was it. No trap control or overprint black whatsoever with our Prinergy unless you created another template. So eventually we had templates for several situations...

    Rampage V11

I have never used 10.5. I have used prinergy and it is faster, but you have way less control. None of the RIP's are perfect but after using Rampage, Brisque and Prinergy, I prefer Rampage.

Convert Rip'd Brisque files to Rampage?

Is there a way to convert RIP'd brisque files to RAMpage? We are doing pick ups and I have just been re -ripping them because I havent found a way to use the old files. Since they are exact reprints...We should use the old files if possible, but right now its not really. Anybody know how to do...
