    Lukas is correct. Underlying mixes of percentages of CMYK allow for less trap allowance. Normally, trap allowances are set to the same value whether they are CMYK or spot. It must be a requirement for the type of flexo press you're using. Check out this resource for more info...

    I prefer to convert images to CMYK so I can apply the right color profile to them. You can resize an image down, but not enlarge it without loosing image quality. Perhaps I am a purist, but I find the tried and true methods continue to produce better results.
