Hi
I have client that prints many educational books for schools. We used to printed on 60lb offset 4 color.
Now he came with a book that has a fine texture, and the color picture are much clear and sharp. So I showed some matte coated paper. The problem is, that altought the print will look good, so I promised, but when he tried to write with a pencil and use an eraser on it, the paper got smeared from the eraser which rubs of the coateing.
So, I am looking to some kind of coated paper, smooth paper, so the erase won't smear the paper.
Any help.
Thanks

If you like the look and feel of the matte coated stock, but want something a little more durable, may I suggest a micro-porous coated paper-based inkjet paper?

Are you printing to SWOP or GRACoL?

We own an inkjet paper converting facility.
Please ping me back with details and I can try to help.

Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian

Thanks for your reply

I don't understand the use off inkjet paper, we are looking to print these books on 4 color press. Is this inkjet paper like, available on large sheets as well for big presses? And do you have a brand or mfg. name?

Please reply
Thanks
Jacob

I thought, since it was posted in a prepress forum, that you were looking for paper for proofing.

we have our own brand - Validation(tm) Media.
Thanks,

A Domtar Saturn Offset 60 lb should work. It pays to collect paper samples from different manufacturers so you can test them out when a client wants something special.
